82 %

or projects on site

With this share, we support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the work being done in our project countries. This is the only way we can sustainably, efficiently, and effectively empower refugees, provide clean water to village communities, or give mothers and children a balanced diet.

14 %

for administrative costs

Without a well-functioning administration, aid organizations like Tearfund Germany would not exist. The secure transfer of money to fragile states is often associated with high requirements and expenses. The administrative costs also include the network work here in Germany, from which our program department draws a great deal.

4 %

are reinvested

We reinvest in fundraising and public relations activities so that even more people become involved in the fight against extreme poverty. No companies or service providers are commissioned to solicit donations, nor are any performance-related payments made. This also includes the personnel expenses that generate new public grants and project applications.

Did you know that our projects are also supported by public grants?

To make the biggest possible difference against poverty, we also apply for grants from humanitarian funds from the European Commission (ECHO) and the United Nations (UN-OCHA), among others. In addition, projects are subsidized through peacebuilding and development funds from the U.S. government (U.S. Department of State) and the German government (the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), German Federal Foreign Office (AA), or the German Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Development (BMZ)).
